Decker signed

According to the MHR, Decker signed a 4 year deal.

Apparently he called Josina and told her the news. She has an article on the news station website. Channel 7, I think?

I've got a question. When rooks "hold out" I realize that its for negotiation. But if a player is drafted does he or she have an obligation to make a minimum commitment to the team that he or she was drafted by?

Nut, Im pretty sure that in football like the NBA, and baseball. If a guy were hard headed enough to sit out an entire year. They could re-enter next year's draft. They would be taking a huge risk by doing so, as teams wouldn't have recent film to work off of and the player and agent could be black balled pretty quickly

that makes a lot of sense if he and his agent don't get the deal they want. A higher draft pick demands more coin. So Tebow, although not 1 st round worthy by many analysts, secures pretty good leverage with where he was taken I would assume. Getting back to the hardheadedness of a roookie, iddn't the reciever from the Horns do that with San Fran last year? (I forget his name).

when a drafted player ends up on a different team, the original team, gets compensation.
NOT from the PLAYER, from the league and or the team that ends up with the player.
E:WAY is the very best example, because he was the first player drafted #1 to stand up and say, NO !
(sorry if some of you did not piece that together.)
ELWAY succeed thanks to george steinbrenner.

Crabtree and he tried to get paid based on where he felt he should have gotten drafted. Wonder how players would feel if teams pulled the reverse. "We picked you earlier than we should have based on everyone else's draft board, so we'll pay you like the fifth rounder you should have been."

The Raiders and Cowboys screw up the the scale every freakin year by signing guys to bigger deals than they should have gotten. Hence Crabtree's antics last year.

BINGO!
and because he had a BASEBALL contract waiting for him, he was able to dictate and orchestrate his way out of BALT.
His agent, knew that BALT was a bad idea for john.
back then, you played for the team that drafted you, or you did not play at all !
the DRAFT was the PRIMARY reason why the NFL was forced to finally merge with the AFL
