It is a good thing in Denver, we know how to complain about the qb then. Anyone other than Elway just isn't good enough.

It sucks to see a QB with his talent go, but it also sucks to go on and on and on with this superdrama offseason. This is a premiere team in the NFL. Kyle Orton may NOT be Jay Cutler but I do think we got value in return. To argue that there was any other route is just being naive. Josh's offense does NOT require a guy to sling the rock eighty yards down the field. It requires a guy to play smart football and use that god given gift in between his ears. From everything I have read Orton is a team first guy who works his tail off. He may not have all the skills that Jay has but maybe can be a guy who will work well with our new coach. I am going to give this a chance before i jump off a bridge. I also say again....screw drafting Sanchez and STafford and go after Bomar late...I'm telling you...not too many kids can walk in as a true freshman and start for one of the best teams in college football and start. He's a sleeper in my book and could be a very very good NFL QB

What I think many "fans" do not understand is that Cutler "fit" the Shanahan type of O. Bowlen opted to go with a different style of O, and that is where Cutler did not fit the McD style. "Gunslinger" is not in McDs vocabulary. The clue is that the YAC stas are more improtant than the flinging the ball 65 yards in the air. Orton may actually fit the new O better. If not, then I would think the FO would look for the guy that fits what the O is going to be.

I liked Orton when he played for Purdue.............I always thought he was the Bears best Quarterback, better than Grossman..............He's a big guy, somewhere around 6'6'', I'll have to check to be sure.............But I think he's good enough to make our Offense competitive. Charles Davis is talking as we speak about us drafting Sanchez. I think we need to just do what I've been hoping and draft two Defensive players in the 1st round..........If we trade one of our 3rd round picks to move up to get Raji and then take Tyson Jackson at 18, we just drafted 2/3's of our starting Defensive line............Thomas on the other side..........Now, if we want to, we could get Shonn Greene in the 2nd round.........or go after Brace, alot of possibilities............But i hope we don't trade all of these picks away just to draft Sanchez................Orton is 6'4'', just checked.

Guys I am convinced that McDaniels feels about quarterbacks the same way that Shanny felt about runninbacks. He feels that he can make a quarterback out of anyone. There is no way we draft Freeman or Sanchez. We may nab someone in the midrounds.

I really want to see us trade one of our firsts. I also think Brace is a better 3-4 NT than Raji. Raji is a penetrator and I don't see him being satisfied with anchoring the line and letting the backers make plays.

One of our third rounders isn't enough to move us more than a couple of spots. Maybe we get to nine, but not much more, and I think we've got enough holes to fill that I'd rather see us get Jackson and Maleuga or trade out of one of our picks and get more ammo later

If we trade those two #1's for sanchez it will be a disaster.

Stay true to the problem.. Use both #1's on Defense.

Let orton be a stop gap. He's solid enough that he wont lose games for us. And possibly McD's system makes a man out of him. I doubt it.. but.. it's possible. If we are going after a QB in the first round Draft him next year. Better talent. PERIOD.

To the people who said the Broncos Vets would freak out about this. I am sure they saw Cutler's insanity over the past month. He abandoned his teammates...said he didn't...said he wanted out of town...then said he didn't...the guy is crazy.

IF he had a problem making reads is because he was running for his life most of the time! He had to endure 27 sacks last year....27!!! They gave up over 30 as a team, good luck Jay!

Yes yes I know they signed Orlando Pace, a 34 year old who may be on the way down, he didn't play much the last two years with multiple injuries. Look at the history for most OL once they start to pick up those on going injuries they don't last long, but who knows that's Cutler's problem now.

Orton and Simms will in my opinion do well under McDaniels because they are system QB's who will be thrilled to have the line up of receivers and backs that Denver has.

As for Jay, well as my late father in law used to say "you might get what you want, but you might not like what you get".

The best scenario in my eyes would be....
Build our Defense through this years draft....
and next year draft Sam Bradford...
I'm sure Pat Bowlen would love this, having a QB from his alma matter

Colt McCoy, Tim Tebow and Sam Bradford. I'll take any of them over either of the two this year.

We'd have to trade to much to move up. We can't force a pick. We are not going to win the super bowl this year. Face it. We need a to build the D. That's the fastest way to win. Build the D this year and draft a QB next year. we do that... In 2010 we are MUCH BETTER.

There was a story today, I believe Denver Post?..Not sure but it said that several Broncos vets said they had been trying to call Cutler but he wasn't answering or returning calls...so much for "I play for my team mates" I guess.

I enjoyed the story from Chicago where Urlacher welcomed Jay but also said he felt they gave up a lot, and that Kyle was well liked in the locker room.

Further more.. look at the rookie qb's that were successful this year when inserted into line ups right away.. Flacco and Ryan. Common thread.. they both had solid D's backing them up.. takes the pressure off. We throw a rookie in there this year with our D where they have to score 40. please. We'd shred his confidence.

No sir.. the way to go is DRAFT D this year. Get that 3-4 in place and figured out by next year. Draft a qb next year to build around for the future.

We force a pick this year.. it'll be a mess. and it's be a crime to draft a QB in the first with our needs on D. A CRIME.

Yup, totally with you Youmind. All D this year, look at one of those QBs next year if Orton or Simms don't pan out.

We should be able to get a solid 3-4 OLB and a 3-4 DE or NT out of this.
