I am EXCITED to get back to talking about BRONCO football!

I have to agree with you. I think Orton could have a Cassell type of year. I hope the Broncos don't go after a QB in this years draft. We are in a good position to greatly upgrade the front 7.

Yeah. The draft is a slam dunk.

I know what we do have good odds to get: musical backup quarterbacks.

Fantastic.

You're smoking crack. Orton won't even beat out Simms. He is a backup QB at best... the guy can't read defenses. He is not smart.

Orton, McDaniels, Xanders, and Bowlen himself will be crushed by the weight of this trade.

We're the value here?... Denver got shafted!

Orton isn't worth a first round pick. Nobody in the league would give up a first rounder to get him. That means he ISN'T worth a first round pick!

Unbelievable.

Orton was virtually a throw in. With Orton on board Denver can concentrate on Defense this year and get a good you QB next year with on of their 2 1st round picks.

A starting quarterback?

For how long?

We will see Simms next season. Will that make him a "starting" quarterback too?

A quick look at just the first round possibilities...

Kyle Orton-Solid. Wont lose the game for you. Plays smart. Good locker room guy and at all levels a winner. Will serve as a solid and dependable back up QB for years under a future QB (average talent I understand but lets look future..so more opinion on this in a bit.)

2009
1. 12 BJ raji (i could care less about the positive test, for now warren Sapp had one. it worked out ok) But still.. we need this man's talents. Trust the scouting and the face to face you had at the Combine.

2. 18. Ray Ray. We need a Middle LB like this guy. We need to be super up the middle of the D. All great D's are. This man is a monster with the pads on. Great leader.

2010:

1st #1 S Taylor Mays: Further strength up the middle. Stud. Will be for years. (question is will we have a pick this high? With the ammo we have we can have what ever we want next year. We have the chances that the Bears or Broncos could suck in 09. So we could get a pick that high naturally. Or we have 2 #1's a #2 and #3. That second #1 is a tool. We trade it and a #3 to move as many as 5-6 slots up in the draft to make a run on him. Before this trade we wouldn't have had a shot to get a guy like that. Now we can

2nd #1. Tim Tebow, Sam Bradford, Colt McCoy: Obviously one of them would be an option. Take your pick. All 3 guys are mature, talented and good leaders. (I'm pulling for tebow but really all three of these dudes are safer than Stafford or Sanchez who will cost us more picks to get than just a #1. To get up this year we'd need to move up in the 1st which at minimum would cost our 1st #1 and a #3. So why not wait and risk just a #1 next year? Every player counts this year. Every oppertunity counts. Kyle Orton WILL NOT LOSE GAMES FOR US NEXT YEAR. if we run the ball well, play solid defense we will win more games than 7. Which is what Jay won 2 years ago. My gut feeling is with the second #1 we can have one of these guys.)

So the bears get Jay "b!tch" Cutler

Broncos get: BJ RaJi, Ray-Ray, Taylor Mays and Tebow or McCoy or Bradford

Gentleman.. we raped those Bears today. We will be a house in 2010-11-12-13.
And my senario says nothing about our 2 #2's in that span and 3#3's. We can get a lot better boys.

think about it.. 3 weeks ago we almost traded him for Cassell straight up. Boys we got 2 #1's and a 3rd.. and a solid, safe qb.

Youmind. At least you're looking at the potential of this trade. I like your take on Orton (servicable for the short term).

9 picks in the first three rounds over the next two drafts.

If we can't get the defense squared away...something is wrong

I'm excited to see some denver !

Realistic picks: We'll assume Raji either won't be there at 12 or the Broncos decide his failed drug screen is a problem.

1. ( 12) Malcomb Jenkins ---Free Safety..........Could be the Ed Reed we've needed so badly.........put him with Barrett at SS.
1. (18) Tyson Jackson ----DE
2. Ron Brace---- NT
3. Antoine Caldwell ---Center
3. ( from the Bears) Terrance Taylor ---NT

4 starters............Caldwell would sit a year behind Weigman. Jackson and Brace would start. Jenkins would sit a year behind Dawkins and Terrance Taylor would be in the rotation his rookie season.

Another possibility would be Maualuga at 12 and Jackson at 18. I still like Brace with our 2nd round pick but will he last that long? We could trade one of our 3rd round picks to move way up in the 2nd round to make sure we get him.

I think the Bears may have gotten the better deal..

Oh well.

Orton?? He is not that good..

Hopefully the draft picks will equal to something.

Orton is not bad..........he's just no Jay Cutler, that's all. He's worth giving the starting job to though for the season, to see what he can do with a great O-line, Marshall, Royal, Sheffler and Hillis. The Bears Receivers were not that great.
