Keys to Victory vs the NY Jets
November 30th, 2008 by Harkov | No Comments | Filed in Broncos- The Jets can run the ball, first and foremost, we’ll have to shut down their run game. Tall order.
- Favre has taken fewer risks this year, he is playing more like a game manager taking the safe throws. The Broncos defense will have to find an answer for this. It will start have to start with #1 above…and also being able to get to the QB. Two things we have had a heck of a time doing.
- Given that we will have a hard time holding the Jets’ offense from scoring, a flawless special teams performance will be necessary. Big Jet returns are not an option this Sunday. Punts must pin them deep, force the Jets to march 80+ yards on each drive.
- Along the same lines…the offense cannot turn the ball over. Simple as that.
- Stopping the Jets offense may prove to be too difficult. The Broncos need to get the run game dialed up in a hurry. 5th in the league in yards/carry. Let’s see a commitment to the run…since the only way the Broncos will win this one is if Favre & Co are kept OFF the field.
- I know you love to chuck up the deep ball…but the wind in the Meadowlands is not kind. 3 and outs are also not kind to the defense. Please…..please…let’s see some methodical drives.
Win the turnover battle. No big plays on special teams. Chew up the clock.
