1. Detroit Lions - Andre Smith - OT - Alabama
Team Needs: CB OT TE QB DE DT ILB

Sure, the easy pick here is Stafford. But, without a competent offensive line you are just setting up any quarterback for failure. Andre Smith should be an anchor on that line for years to come.

2. St. Louis Rams - Eugene Monroe - OT - Virginia
Team Needs: OT WR QB DT OLB CB

Again, another situation where perhaps we take a franchise QB. But I am not completely sold on Stafford at this slot. Orlando Pace isn’t getting any younger, his knees are a mess. If he can last another year or two at Left Tackle, Eugene Monroe can cut his teeth on the right side.

3. Kansas City Chiefs - Michael Crabtree - WR - Texas Tech
Team Needs: OT WR OG C DE ILB OLB

Stafford may be difficult to pass up here, but it all depends on whether or not Pioli and the Chiefs coaching staff (oh yeah, let’s hire one first) are sold on their current crop of quarter backs. I would have gone with one of the big name tackles here, but they are gone. So how about a big bodied wide receiver to go along with Bowe? This would give the Chiefs a WR tandem they haven’t had in ages.

4. Seattle Seahawks - Michael Oher - OT - Mississippi
Team Needs: WR OT RB DT

The run on offensive tackles is complete. The Seahawks would have loved for Crabtree to slip another spot, but alas, they are forced to rebuild their offensive line. They got to the Super Bowl with a dominant offensive line, and look to get back there as soon as possible.

5. Cleveland Browns - Aaron Curry - OLB - Wake Forest
Team Needs: RB OLB CB

Willie McGinest isn’t getting any younger. Curry and Wimbley could be the Browns Woodley and Harrison.

6. Cincinnati Bengals - Beanie Wells - RB - Ohio State
Team Needs: OT WR OG RB DE DT OLB ILB FS

The Bengals are a mess and really could go anywhere at this point. Chris Wells has been shooting up draft boards, and a solid running game could be useful in taking some pressure off the shoulders of whoever is throwing the ball in Cincy.

7. Oakland Raiders - Malcolm Jenkins - CB - Ohio State
Team Needs: WR OT DE DT OLB CB

I am making this pick assuming Nnamdi somehow skips town. Malcolm will run somewhere in the 4.3 range and catch Al Davis’ attention.

8. Jacksonville Jaguars - BJ Raji - DT - Boston College
Team Needs: WR DT CB MLB

Pair Raji up with Henderson, and the Jaguars will have a dominant interior line once again. They have missed this since Stroud left town.

9. Green Bay Packers - Brian Orakpo - DE - Texas
Team Needs: DE DT OT

The Packers were 25th in the league last season when it came to sacks. They have some excellent players in the secondary, if they could get to the quarterback a little quicker, that secondary could look even better. Orakpo should translate into a pass rush threat, and should fit in well in Green Bay.

10. San Francisco 49ers - Matthew Stafford - QB - Georgia
Team Needs: WR OT DE CB OLB

I think Stafford has slipped way to far as it is, and the 49ers would be silly to pass up on him here, even if they have more pressing needs. I could certainly see them go on the defensive side of the ball, but Stafford should be a steal at this point.

11. Buffalo Bills - Jason Smith - OT - Baylor
Team Needs: OT TE FS DE

Another big man goes, big draft for offensive tackles in this mock. The Bills have problems keeping their quarterback upright and concussion free. This points to need on the offensive line. There are plenty of defensive options at this point as well, but I think O-Line is a bigger need. They finished the season ranked 14th in defensive points allowed and 23rd in offensive points.

12.Denver Broncos - ILB - Rey Maualaga - USC
Team Needs: DT ILB OLB FS SS

Ever since the departure of Al Wilson, the Broncos defense has been in a downward spiral. The leadership he provided on and off the field proved to be a critical component to the success of the defense. While Rey may not be the most physically gifted athlete available at this pick, his leadership on and off the field is sorely needed. He should fill in nicely next to DJ Williams as one of the inside backers in the Broncos new 3-4 scheme.

13. Washington Redskins - Jeremy Maclin - WR - Missouri
Team Needs: DT DE OT CB

Going off the board here. The Redskins have needs on the defensive line, but a lot of the higher talent linemen at this point are tweener types that may fit better in a 3-4 scheme. The Redskins can use some more offensive firepower in the very difficult NFC East.

14. New Orleans Saints - Alphonso Smith - CB - Wake Forest
Team Needs: OLB RB CB

The Saints have talent on the defensive line and in their linebacking corps. Their offense certainly isn’t an issue. This brings us to their secondary. The best available player at this point is Alphonso Smith. I could see them going with a guy like Laurinaitis as well should Vilma be leaving town.

15. Houston Texans - Everette Brown - DE - Florida State
Team Needs: CB SS FS ILB OT

Everette Brown could translate well into a 3-4 OLB or a pass rush specialist defensive end in a 4-3. He could give the Texans some flexibility to play with 3-4 formations once again, or starting opposite Mario Williams as a 4-3 end, he could cause some serious damage.

16. San Diego Chargers - Aaron Maybin - DE/OLB - Penn State
17. New York Jets - Brian Cushing - OLB - USC
18. Chicago Bears - Percy Harvin - WR - Florida
19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - James Laurinaitis - MLB - Ohio State
20. Detroit Lions (from Dallas) - Mark Sanchez - QB - USC
21. Philadelphia Eagles - Eben Britton - OT - Arizona
22. Minnesota Vikings - DJ Moore - CB - Vanderbilt
23. New England Patriots - Clint Sintim - OLB - Virginia
24. Atlanta Falcons - Peria Jerry - DT - Mississippi
25. Miami Dolphins - Vontae Davis - CB - Illinois
26. Baltimore Ravens - Michael Johnson - DE - Georgia Tech
27. Indianapolis Colts - Darius Heyward-Bey - WR - Maryland
28. Philadelphia Eagles (from Carolina) - Knowshon Moreno - RB - Georgia
29. New York Giants - Brandon Pettigrew - TE - Oklahoma State
30. Tennessee Titans - Sean Smith - CB - Utah
31. Arizona Cardinals - LeSean McCoy - RB - Pittsburgh
32. Pittsburgh Steelers - William Moore - FS - Missouri
